Max Speed of 4 Winns _ Liberator 221 (non stock)
I was thinking about - Re-Powering my 1990_ 4 Winns 221 with a 502 or ?? this winter.
I was wondering what has worked the best (221 owners) and did not want to re-invent the wheel.
Also, will the 221 haul handle the increased HP and would the boat >> be stable at higher speeds, or Not worth the effort or expense ?
How does... (or what would one expect) the Libb. 221 to handle at 80 + mph or so on smooth lake water (would the boat be unstable) ?
Is their another boat that (older boat) that would be a better candiate for repower and go fast with 600 HP engine ?

F-18 made from a Piper Cub??
Advise-Sell your non-performance boat with its non-performance hull and buy a nice( low at todays cost )good used performance boat to achieve your needed results.
You can't make a high speed boat out of a boat that was only designed to see 50mph speeds.
Best Regards,
