You Fountain fanatics crack me up. You think every Fountain ever built, is the fastest boat built. That one is a 1988 w/ trs drives, by all appearances. While today, pound for pound, Fountain makes a very fast boat, things were different in 88.

Unless your talking about 6ft + swells, the Fountain wouldn't stand a chance against the Scarab( given same HP). There is a generation of evolution and design between the two hulls. Plus the fact the Fountain is about 1.5 times as heavy as the Scarab doesn't help a bit. The big question is, where is the boat going to be used, and under what conditions.

and they been winning races ever since,in all kinds of water.just because you have a heavy boat does not mean you,ll do well in the rough, just mean you,ll use more h/p and fuel.

scarabman, I like the Scarab better but I would s h i t can those blowers...I think people where just commenting on the blown motors being a little less user friendly. The Fountain needs to have the arch removed.

my first ride/drive in a fast boat was a scarab 30ft.502 w/blower.sweet boat.
