whats good to keep spiders/insects away from boat?

This time of year they get real bad at the marina even with cover on boat,
the spiders espcially leave these little black ink dots all over everything that are a ***** to clean off,the owner does powerclean the roof at least once a year and it helps but they come back pretty quickly.
Any suggestions?

Its a common problem at LOTO. I'm not sure exactly what they use, but I know that they spray the underside of the roofs with a very powerful insecticide.

spiders, buy some devcon or something like it that has residual, get it from a bug man that might sell it to ya,its a real fine powder.a wif of it will have ya gaging.I spray the rafters above the boat and all the side beams, poles, and pier beside the boat.it last about 1-2 months.Oyea its illegal and wear a rain jacket,it will make you sick!!

insects, purple martins and some other bird makes a big diff on our pier, they say bats is the best, they eat like 5 time their body weight.

I guess thats why am retarded:rolleyes::drink:

hey anybody know how to get ride of frogs, brown and the green tree frogs.cat doesn't work and no snakes

One of the marinas where we slip sometimes has a "Spider-B-Gone" misting system built into the rafters. They go off a couple of times a day on a timer. The mist is very fine and works really well. Definitely no spider webs around.

all i have ever used is Downey dryer sheets and never ever have any spiders. I usually open a box and toss several of them around in behind panels and where ever i can hide them then leave about a half an unused box in one of the lower babinets or out of the way somewhere. Been doing it for years and no spiders ever seem to be on my boats while neighboring boats still have them.

Suspend Sc or Tempo GS will do the trick. I like the Suspend with the 11% deltamethrin concentration.

It is against/off label to spray these insectisides around water because of the potential for overspray. So be careful not to accidently cause a fish kill. Generally, spray up high @ night and around the decking during the day when the spiders head down where it is cooler.

Cover your face because this stuff will burn you if you get it on you.

Another remedy after spraying is hanging a tarp from the rafters. Hang it a few feet below the inside of the roof over the boat. I've also had customers use fake snakes and owls. First time I saw it years ago I was like WTF, but it seems to work.

That sounds intresting,hmmm..
And sounds a lot safer than stuff that can burn my face...
