Planning on it while the motor is out of the boat. My family and I used the boat 1-2 times a week for the entire summer. Just didn't get around to it.

I will keep you guys posted.

Great job on the upgrades. What are the differences between the 600sci and the 700sci - cam, intercooler and a smaller blower pulley?

Ran my stage II for 3.5-4 hrs at or near WOT at the OCM, Portland Poker run. I was doing a consistant 80-92 mph, which netted me the honor of being the fastest single engine v-hull at the run.

Dustin knows his stuff!

Differences between the 600sci and the 700sci:

700 has 3/16 inch taller innercooler.. they add a spacer on top of the 600 manifold

700 has a smaller pulley (similar to the stage II Whipple pulley)

700 has a different cam

700 has a different tune in the PCM

When we change the cam in the 600sci to Whipples proprietary cam (much more technology than the 700sci cam), then the 600 will be basically the same as a modified 700sci with the exception of the shorter (3/16") innercooler. Dustin's water modifications make either innercooler much more efficient than even the stock 700 innercooler.

Your saying the innercooler difference is 3 1/16 ie .187 ,thats a real small difference?

The 700 innercooler is aproximately 1/4 of one inch taller than a 600. ie .25" +/-. (I will measure it, and get back to you.) But you are correct, the 700 innercooler is not much taller than the 600.

Since the 700 came out first I believe, I would have thought that merc would of just used the existing innercooler, but I think they were also trying to make the 600 shorter for easier hatch clearance.

Also of significant note is that the water inlet to the innercoolers on both the 600 and 700 is necked down to aproximately 5/16 of an inch in order to maintain water pressure and flow through the engines heat exchanger. Dustin is coming up with kits to drastically increase the flow of water going thru the innercooler. This will require some new parts, some modified stock parts, and a seperate water pickup for the innercooler. Also required, will be some PCM programing modifications to alter the way that the smartcraft system senses water flow and pressure to the motor. The final result will be that water flow thru the innercooler will all be AN-12 (3/4 inch), and a much cooler/happier motor. As of stage II, we are still using Dustin's water re-route kit that pulls innercooler water directly after the raw water pump, instead of tapping water off the power steering cooler (stock). This modification alone has resulted in reduced intake charge temperatures, and the ability to run increased boost pressures.

I hope this helps,

Chris
