It's the old Eltro 16 footer designed and built in Islip in 1968 by John Ives and Bob D'arganon. THey were originally employees of Marcel Raveau before he moved to Florida. Google Raveau if you want the real history of Long Island Outboard performance boating. He is the Godfather of both the Eltro and subsequent Linder designs, which is the true Long Island performance family tree.

I raced the original 16 Eltro with George Linder as co- driver in the APBA Marathon Nationals (6 hours) in 1969 at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. We had a pair of Merc 1250 BP's on the boat....
60 hp seems tame......

Not with that hull, it delaminated in that race.
If you are asking me, if I ever won....I won a few....in Glastrons , Allisons, Powercats, Eltros, Milesmasters, Molinaris, Seebolds, Challengers and Shadows
Now tell us your racing history and experience.

No need to get your shorts in a bunch... it was a question not an challenge... I prefer to live life looking through the windshield not the rear view mirror.... I raced APBA ModVP's in the 80's... at least I think I did??????

I like that "living life through the rear view mirror" quote.
I believe in balancing the past with the present....if you don't do that periodically, people get sucked into believing things like SBI on CBS.
