We wish Coan's the best. All we can offer is what we have proven to work in a 46 Skater that breaks things. 316-648-2414. ( 12000.00 ea.) That's right. We're not the cheapest.

I am running 950 Horsepower Keith Eickert’s in my 32 Skater. The low gear in the Coan transmission is a 1.82.1 gear ratio. The reverse gear ratio is a 1.61.1. By utilizing the low gear I was able to get on plane quicker and run a bigger prop for a faster cruising speed and better top end speed. The low gear also works great around the dock slowing the boat down for easier maneuverability. Coan rates the transmission up to 2,000 horsepower. If you have any questions on the transmission please give Dave Coan a call at 765-456-3957.

Turboes really seem like the way to go. They pretty much have them figured out in the drag racing community.
Just check out some of the NMCA classes. Outlaw 10.5, Drag radial etc. You've got cars with dot drag radials runnning 6.90's @200 + mph.
