Smitty,

I'm more interested in overall fuel mileage gains towing & daily driving than I am power or acceleration. What kind of mileage are you seeing?

With regard to warrantys I'm in pretty good shape since my employer owns many GM Dealerships. No plans to go haywire but I should be able to cover minor out of bounds under warranty.

My 06 got 17.5 Towing and over 20 on the highway empty I have seen 23 on it before no tuner just EGR Blocked.

I agree The Diesel Place is a good information site.

Just towed the 32 Skater to Sarasota and back with my new GMC 2500HD Duramax and only got around 9 mpg. My 05 Chevy easily would have had around 14-15. This new emissions equipment has to be the difference, but I'm scared to mess with it. My 05 had the Banks system, exhaust, intake work, etc. and half the time ended up detuning itself and became a royal PITA. I vividly remember trying to merge onto I-95 in CT rush hour (without the boat), and suddenly having the truck shut down to about 45mph as I tried to merge with 80mph traffic....here was my new (at the time) $50,000 truck with 4,000 miles....$hitting the bed.....

All the crap they added in 07 ruined it, like the particle trap this is outrageous.

That seems highly unlikely

Get one of the newer tuners with the DPF delete programing in it, and put an aftermarket (earlier year) turbo back exhaust on it... no more smog stuff. :)
