Anyone boat near Victoria, BC , Canada or East Sound washington?

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've been on here.... I miss talking to you all! Since I sold my boat its depressing to think about it.

Anyway, I'm gonna be going to Victoria ,BC (canada) . My wife has buisness to do there. SO I'll have time to kill. Just wanted to know more about the boating life in the area. Wheres the hot spots ? Any good water front places to eat etc. Where to see some cool boats? We'll probably be there in the end of february.

Also, I have a guy in East sound Washington state, That I did a lot of buisness with, but never met the man. I might try to get over there to buy him a beer too. It looks like its only about 25 miles away but its on an island! Orcas Island, next to San Juan islands. Anyone know the area? Whats the best way to travel from victoria to east sound?

Thanks for any help, and I look forward to hearing from everyone I havent talked to in a while! Joe

Well, it is the middle of winter so performance boating will be slim, not that this is the performance boating center of the universe. :party-smiley-004:

Good news is that it is beautiful in that area, specially on a clear day. Victoria is an incredible medium sized city that is very European culture and design wise.

I think your best bet to get to Orcas Island is to use the Washington state ferry from San Juan Island which is close to Victoria. If it is clear, consider chartering a small plane. The view from up there is unbelievable. Take a camera and post pics. :drink:

Hey thanks! I thought it might be cold over there but someone told me NO...... THey said they boat all year? SHocked me. I think of anything north of the border (or close) as COLD! Thank you very much for the info.

Did I see that right? Your boats are powered by FORD? I love it ! Tell me more. PLease. WHat are they and who did them. Normally boats and fords don't mix. Acording to the mercruiser crowd anyway !:drink: I'm a big ford kind of guy. All my hot rods have em. My boats always had chebbys though. Last one had 588 inch 1000's.

Thanks again,Joe

Yeah I am a real die hard. :drink:

I do most everything myself. I get help on some of the more complicated engine machine work etc but everything else is me. These are 600 inch N/A motors.

You have to wear socks to get into my bilge. That pretty much limits it to me. :lolhit:
