Advanced Boat Haulers
Be careful getting just any service. Make sure they have "enough" cargo coverage..... Many haulers out there have the cargo coverage but it is not adequate. If the rig is worth more than what the hauler carries....you're leaving yourself personally exposed.
Also - remember the majority of all boat insurance policies (not talking about cargo coverage from the transporter) has a clause in their policy. If the boat is being transported "for hire" then the responsability is transferred to the transport company. Meaning.... you hire someone to haul your boat and it disappears or is damaged in a accident...your personal policy won't cover a thing. Hence the need to make sure the transport company has adequate insurance.
Get a certificate of insurance issued in your name. You will see all the coverages and dates of coverage. Anyone who can't provide this.... I would be worried.
Guys charging a $1.00 a mile or less....most likely don't have the correct coverage.... or they are bare bones....not making a penny of profit.
