DPX question for C-Spray...

...or anyone else familiar with the Volvo DPX outdrive:
Is there a particular prop shop that might be recommended for custom tuning my E4 propset?

THANKS!

Not sure what Chuck had to say, and he knows his stuff well, but my experience with labbed E-4s did not show much beyond Volvo stock. My set were done by Bronson Hill. Perhaps someone else would have yielded better results?

There are two companies in England that make nice jobs on the Volvo DuoProps. www.steeldevelopments.co.uk/and http://www.proprevs.com/.
PropRevs modified my GR9,s to the Round Britain 2008-race. They got the pitch from 29,5 to aprox 31,5" and cupped all blades.
The speed increased from 70 to 75,5 mph at 3730 rpm. Still hitting the limiter ....

I used Bronson Hill also...was happy with the results...but I do remember launching my boat in New Orleans into Lake Pontchartrain...the guy at the ramp told me it was all clear and to simply unload right in the middle...so I back down the middle (no docks)...the water was high (very high) and when I fired up the motors and put it in gear I wacked the crap out of the cement pier/dock that was down the center...so much for local knowledge (it was a boat show and he was the local expert helping boats get in the water)....two lab finished props destroyed...outdrive was good to go...had another set of props in the truck (not lab finished though) and put them on. Only got 96mph out of her (non-lab props) and needed 100mph or better to get the 5 boat deal with a potential customer looking to use the boats for "paid joy rides"...bummer for me I guess!! The show promoter did take the cost of the props off my show space bill...had to appreciate that, but lost my big sale...100mph was a tough nut to crack!!

My advice was to make absolutely sure that any potential pitch increases were balanced between the front and rear props. Asking one prop to carry too much load will kill the pinion gear. Many have found out the hard way...

A set of gears (they are NOT available individually) is roughly $2,000. Plus labor.
