Default OT: Food regulations....

Someone a few days ago posted about a group trying to pass regulations about food content and food taxes.

I did a little searching and found some disturbing calorie and fat counts. I can see now why our kids are overweight.
We only need around 2000 calories a day and no more than 65 grams of fat.

You ever pull into Burger King with a taste for a double Whopper with cheese?
Just remember this: Double Whopper w/cheese has 1010 calories and 67 grams of fat. That's half your daily calorie intake and your total daily fat allowance in one meal. Fries and drink not included.
Their chicken sandwich is just as bad. 710 calories and 43 grams/fat.

Or, how about a McDonald's Big XTra w/cheese.
810 calories and 19 grams/fat.
The Big Mac? 570 calories and 32 grams/fat .
McChicken, grilled, has 450 calories and 18 grams/fat.

The worst offender is Schlotzsky's Deluxe Original (Lg).
It has 2638 calories and 152 grams of fat!!
How about their Turkey Original (Lg)? We all know that Turkey is naturally low in calories and fat right? Not this one. It has 2083 calories and 104 grams/fat! The regular size isn't much better, it has 1017 calories and 71 grams/fat.

Ever get a hanker'n for a Denny's skillet meal?
The Big Texas Chicken Fajita Skillet has 1217 calories and 70 grams/fat.
The Farmers Slam breakfast? 1200 calories and 80 grams.

These ar just some selected items from a site I found.
Shocking, isn't it?
What I didn't include is the salt (sodium) content. Some of them had an entire days allowance (2200 +/- mg.) n one sandwich.

Anybody have the breakfast bagel sandwiches from McDonalds?
Good aren't they?
Not now.

The Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagel has 660 calories and 31 grams.
Spanish Omelet Bagel has 690 calories and 38 grams.

I think I'll just give up eating all together.

Default activity has little do do with it... more like GENETICS...

I, play ice hockey, roller hockey, rollerblade, snow ski, water ski, wake board, jet-ski, swim, play racquetball, volleyball, and I go to the gym three times per week,,,,, If I even look at food I gain weight,,,,,, meanwhile the kid next door is trying to gain weight,, he eats NO B.S. 10,000 calories a day... and CAN'T gain weight...

I used to be like your neighbor. I could eat anything and not gain an ounce.
That all changed when I turned 25.
Now I can't seem to loose any weight.
