Default What should I set my total advance at???

540 cu in, NA, carburated, 8.8 : 1 compression, iron heads, and always run 93.............

36 is what mine was set at similar set up.

start at 36 and go from there no more than 38....

what ignition are you running???

In general..... using an adjustable advance timing light, set it to 36*. Rev the engine to...3500pms while checking the timing... With the light set at 36* and the engine at 3500 you want to set the timing mark on the Balancer at TDC mark and "0" advance on the timing tab....
