Blackjack,
Where did you boat when you were here? We launch at Alsip, The Zoo, or Hammond.

Down here in our back yard we have the largest Navy Base in the world. Every time we pass the Navy ships you are watched like a hawk. There are armed posts with M-60 machine guns, full bunkers, and water patrols. Each ship is responsible for it's own security. Our men and women have to stand guard with as much attention as if they were docked in Yemen. At times the Coast Guard has shut down the waterways, when high profile ships or battlegroups are deploying or returning from sea.
We too have an excellent boating facility at Little Creek Naval Base. Built last year...not used to date. I have heard some rumors that it may open sometime this spring, with restricted access and very tight security.
This is all part of our daily routine now....That is an unfortunate thing!!!!!!

Up here we have a new restricted zone by Selfridge Air National Guard base. You can't get within a half mile of shore near the base. They fly F-18 and big transports on a regular basis.
