Question Life Vest Cheepies just for Poker Runs ?

Instead of wearing the regular ski vest I ve seen a bunch of guys wearing this style,We usually only enter 2 poker runs a year that require life vest,We usually go slow with the girls onbard anyway, more of a chance of getting run over.

Also what about automatic or manual?

Anybody have any input on these, etc????
Thanks
Rob

Do you go to speedwake web site? If this link works it should take you to some jackets not sure if these are good prices or not. I'm like you I would like to get a couple and the west marine price is cheap but not sure about the quality. I'm not sure if I want to spend close to $200 for a jacket when I top out around 60 regular ski jackets are ok for me for now.

Rob, get the automatic type. If you hit the water even a little disoriented, it's one less thing to have to figure out.

I got mine off ebay a couple years ago for 70 bucks..automatic exact same as brand and style (sosspenders) as west marine was selling for about twice the price. get a couple of recharge lits when you get them. The auto-ones work by a dissolving bobbin..I learned the hard way that if you leave it in the cockpit on a dewey nite, you will find it popped in the morning

Junk.... Designed for drunk fisherman who fall off the boat at anchor or sailors. Assuming even at 60 mph a rather slow pace in a poker run these jackets could fall apart on impact. I water-ski hard and even at 45-55 mph (cutting the wake at 36 mph) in a fall I have broken ski vests that were built much better than these junk inflatables. Not picking on this brand I am picking on all brands of inflatables. Get Lifeline Poker Run jackets. I have racing friends that have fallen out of drag boats at 100+ mph and were nearly killed wearing Lifelines "racing jackets" and helmets. Most went to the hospital.

You have a stunning 105 mph Hustler, get some really cool matching custom Lifelines with Hustler embroidered.
