Maybe some pearl or flake in the black sides? I think keeping it simple like you describe is the way to go and is lost on many paint schemes these days.

Purple and Green, what else is there???

Black sides with a white deck and bottom is classic and timeless. I would add some silver accent striping between the two and for the name. Also use silver and or polished as an accent in the cockpit.

I think a deep, rich solid silver throughout would look really classy. Then a contrasting carbon fiber interior would really make it pop.

I like your idea... black hull sides and white else where.
you can always add a pair of green eyes to the side.
