Default In His Own Words

To keep the focus on the issue at hand I will not be posting in this thread other than to add direct quotes.
If you have specific questions please send me a pm.

Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Let's get started, shall we?

Re: 36 Apache, Name sugestions please?
My '84 41 was named "Moses"
The guy that bought it didn't get it and changed the name to something people wouldn't have to think about.
It's now retired, so you're welcome to it.

Not really.
I'm 6'2, 235 and an ex- USAF PJ [parachute jumper]. Don't get teased about much of anything.
Seriously though, when I was a kid I caught it constantly but not in a long time.
Boat names- last one a 41...

Picked up 2 mph using this on my Apache. Very expensive but permanent- I ended up doing the sides and deck as well- made it alot easier to wash.

This stuff is expensive but I picked up 3 mph on a 41 Apache with it

I don't know which lake you're on but moving from a Gun to an Apache allowed me to go out on some days on Erie I'd have otherwise passed on.

I'm sure those dolls are a lot of fun. But this might be a better product for the actual finish

I take no responsibility for links.
These are all cut-and-paste. (apologies in advance)

Usually it isn't until it's too late that people come to understand what can happen while towing. I found out the hard way- someone came across the median towards me on the interstate while I was towing my Cig 38 with an F-450. Even though I was under my towing capacity, there was no way I could recover from a quick lane change to avoid the car. As a result, the seesawing back and forth across 3 lanes with a truck and trailer taking turns at going up on 2 wheels ended up with several barrell rolls down an embankment. I bought the Freightliner used for under $20K and put another $10K in it making it ready to go- tool boxes, new flat bed, re-do the interior- everything. It tugs a full-cabin Apache 41 around like it's not even there. I also have the handiest giant pickup truck in town now. I use it way more for other nonsense than pulling the boat.

Gary Montano tows his 50' Nor-Tech cat with a semi. I don't know what the rig weighs but it's probly at least 25,000lbs which is very light for a Class 8 truck...

Owning an Apache is cheating, plain and simple. It lets you do things others can only fantasize about while watching Ben's old race videos and crying unconsolably....

I pull my Apache 41 with a Freightliner FL-70 250hp/800 ft/lb Cat. Boat is full pleasure with a massive Manning steel trailer and about 10 cubic yards of cabinets on it that are stuffed full. ...

At this link: http://publicrecords.onlinesearches....l-database.htm

one can search the entire USCG database. I've searched for every variation of Chris Sunkin I can think of and so far... zipnada.

If anyone has better luck, please post the info and I will adjust this post accordingly.

Before we leave 2005 behind, compare the post below to #5 above.
(color change mine)

He went on my right side and hit the car I was passing. I whipped right up on the road and got stopped- all while pulling the Apache.

This thread has made me start thinking about all the close calls I've had on the highway- with and without the boat. I think I'm going to get a waterfront place and a hydrohoist!
