Default Nor-Tech Super 80 Roadster Almost Done

Not too long now, http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...-nearly-ready/.

Is it a sign of age that I have this on my "wish list" ahead boats that are a whole lot faster? Who cares?

Call me old. I can't wait to see this boat.

Interesting.......an open deck 80 foot boat? Why? I really like the yacht they did. I just looked at the pics of that. Really awesome!

The first Super 80 Roadster is headed for “a loyal Nor-Tech buyer” in Sarasota, Fla. Beyond that, Sobo offered no detail on whom that lucky buyer might be. Matt

It ain't Jimmy Leonardo that's for sure lol.

I liked the first one, too, but I think this one really is along the lines of a Magnum—without the Magnum bulk. Kind of like the ultimate go-fast "day boat," albeit one with three cabins. (There's a lot you can do with 80 feet of boat.)

To me, Magnums always looked derivative— like stretched and widened Cigarettes (which to some degree they probably were). As such, and I realize that a lot of people won't agree, to me they looked bulky and oversized.

The first 80 Nor-Tech looked anything but bulky. I'm guessing the second one will have that same aesthetic quality.

I have heard that Magnums' hulls are 6" of solid fiberglass. That's probly one reason most of them are shipped to the Med.

One story I read was a 60' Magnum that got caught in a hurricane. The Captain said if it had been any other boat he would not have made it through.

"Because you can!"

That pretty much, for me, sums up the entire world of high-performance boats.

Can I get an amen?
