Picked up my new engine today(Dyno #'s)

I picked up my new to me, Bruce Dudley enhanced 502. Here are the numbers according to Bruce's dyno -

RPM CBT CBHP
3200 545.5 332.4
3300 544.8 342.3
3400 548.4 355.0
3500 545.2 363.3
3600 537.7 368.6
3700 537.8 378.9
3800 541.4 391.7
3900 536.9 398.7
4000 541.0 412.0
4100 546.8 426.9
4200 544.4 435.4
4300 540.4 442.4
4400 540.2 452.6
4500 534.0 457.5
4600 531.2 465.3
4700 528.3 472.8
4800 521.4 476.5
4900 514.8 480.3
5000 509.1 484.7
5100 498.4 484.0
5200 491.4 486.5
5300 482.9 487.3

Should be a blast compared to the 454 MAG that came out of the boat. Basically it is a Gen VI 502 bored .030, stock compression, HP 500 roller cam & lifters, Crane Gold Roller Rockers, Edelbrock RPM Airgap intake, 830 Holley 4150 series, stock valve sizes and no porting on the heads(2.19 I, 1.88 E), 3 angle valve job.

I wanted 100 HP more at near stock RPM levels and Bruce did that and more. Can't say enough about the guy, very easy to work with. BTW the numbers above were created with a .64 BSFC and a CAT of 77 degrees. This is pretty rich as Bruce likes to run his personal engines around a .45. We have rejetted the carb to hit around a .55, I like to play it safe. Unfortunately he did not have these smaller jets at the dyno with him so we never got to see what it would make leaned down. I would say it could have made close to 500 even with the dual plane manifold. The engine will have Lightning headers on it as well. I can't wait to get it in the water. Looks like I'm going to need to borrow some props to test!!!!!!!!!

Cool. That engine should pep your boat right up. Bruce is doing my engines now, I can't wait for the Dyno pull. They ill be 502 bowtie block +.060 with a 4.25 stroke. Dart Pro 1 heads, offy tunnel ram and abot 9.75 cr.

Bruce has been fantastic to work with. He has met me in KC to trade parts and will always answer questions, no matter how stupid.

I have been happy with Bruce also. I will post some dyno #'s as soon as I get the sheets. He refreshed my HP500 carb.

Voodoo,

I could be wrong but I think Bruce may have given you a much more of conservative correction data when your dyno numbers were computed because those just seem like pretty conservative numbers for a 502 inch engine. At 60* air temp you're probably making more like 550hp. He did you well.

Is there any way to tell from looking at the data input on the dyno sheet? It was a Superflow 901. Maybe I should have one of these Desktop Dyno guys run the numbers and see how close I am to what they come up with.
