I have one...It fits in the head comp. on my TG...It is a lifesaver on those nasty muggy days .
There is no way I could carry one of those Hatch units over the bow everytime I wanted to use it

bridog, which one do you have, and the hose that's gotta go outside, is that jus for air circulation or does water drain from it?...kinda unclear how they work.

Hey i hate to say it but i have entertained the thought of just getting one of those small $88 window units and retro-ing it into my Scarab. I know it's "trailer parkish" but that boat is my Winnabago for the water (i would never consider anything like this for the Donzi though ). I think theres enough room behind the steps or under the dash somewhere to whittle out a space to stash it and still have enough air to it. Yea i know i may only get one season out of it but its only $88 bucks (ok . . . let the bashing begin its deserved)

I had one in my house. (No central A/C and didn't want to block out one of my bedroom windows completely). It could not keep up on super hot days so i switched to a window unit. The hose is for air transfer and the one I had evaporated most/all the water. There was a tray with a fill light just in case but it never accumulated any water. Here is a link to some. For a boat cabin it would be great if you get one that wasn't too big. Mine was like R2-D2!

TOM A, thanks for your input, think i changed my mind again, im gonna get one see how it does, i was concerened about it leaking a bunch of water down in cabin, i thought the hose going outside was for circulation and not a drain, jus wanted to make sure

i have thought the same thing. I sleep on my boat alot and i cant say there has been more then a few times that it was unbearable. Usually a fan works fine, both my boats have big deck hatches so getting a cross through breeze isnt to hard.
