Default Does anyone know where the Original US Ocke Mannerfelt Design 24' "Batboat" is?

We are hosting a race here June 14-15 and are also having a "Batboat Showdown." We know where all of the boats are but this one, and we would love to have it here at our race (at our expense.) Does anyone know where it is ot who the owner is?

Question The last I heard...

Steve David said that he saw it at one of the "Toy Store" shops in south Florida about a year and a half or two years ago. I sat in it at the Hampton Roads Poker Run in 1999, so I know it did make it to the states. Swedish hull, vacuum bagged, very nice......

I own the first one built in the US, so based on the wording of the thread the original US one is mine. http://www.batboats.com

They are talking about the first three that Ocke built in Sweden. Last I heard some guy in Spain bought the orange one; some guy in Germany bought the one that barrel rolled (don't remember the paint job) and put in a 502, which is why Ocke allowed mine to get built with modifications to handle the big block; and the third one is the blue and silver one that my paint job was modified from. I had heard the same rumor that it was in Florida at one time, but I think Chuck told me that, so looks like we lost it somewhere.

I went to England before I bought mine and rode in both the blue and orange ones. Haven't seen or heard of either since.

How many total B24 versions are there? How many 28? What about the rumored 35? Are you still making them? How many go from 50 - 80 in 4.5 seconds? I have tried several times to round up all the owners, but no luck so far.

Here is the third one I have never actually seen. big version is on my website.

Tom - The picture that you show IS the Swedish boat that was sent over here to Armada in 1999. Silver and blue with a checkered flag motif on the back and a black roof. Like I said - I know because I was in it once. It was later repainted black, fitted with a Scorpion/Bravo package, and served as the test boat for the first year of the One-Design series. Everything after that is pretty much rumors (Like most things were with Armada - Thank GOD for Reindl!!)

I'll second that motion. Chris deserves our praise as well as our support.

Chris, yes I plan on coming. About ready to send my props in to Bronson Hill.

I have the same engine as HTM SS 24 and compared to their numbers it seems unbelievable given that a cat is supposed to be faster. The speed at rpm is about the same, but acceleration in my batboat is awesome. I want to go 100+, but what will that do to the acceleration?

HTM SS 24 in HotBoat
600 hp with bravo four blade 30"
Speed at 3,000rpm: 41.0 mph
Speed at 4,000rpm: 61.1 mph
Speed at 5,000rpm: 81.6 mph
top speed radar 101.3 mph

40 - 60 in 4.2 seconds

Stock BatBoat in Powerboat
315 hp with dpx duoprop
Speed at 3,000rpm: 37.0 mph
Speed at 4,000rpm: 63.0 mph
Speed at 5,000rpm: 82.0 mph
top speed radar 82 mph @ 5,000 rpm

40 - 60 in 6.5 seconds
40 - 70 in 12.7 seconds

My BatBoat with HTM engine
600 hp with dpx duoprop
Speed at 3,000rpm: 47.5 mph
Speed at 4,000rpm: 63.0 mph
Speed at 5,000rpm: 82.5 mph
top speed gps 98.0 mph @ 6200 rpm

40 - 70 in 4.5 seconds
50 - 80 in 4.5 seconds
60 - 80 in 3.5 seconds

I have the 1st ever made B-22 here in Cape Town.
This one won the Worlds with Ocke's son.
Still going strong. I am using it now to tow my son on ski racing.
Let me know if anyone wishes more details, photos, etc,
