Formula Blinging Out Sun Sports
OK, I realize that you won't find "blinging out" in the dictionary but it seems an appropriate subject line here, http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...sed-to-thrill/.
Without question, Formula's FX series enhancements are primarily cosmetic, and that Sun Sports are far from offshore boats. But to its credit Formula—and there hasn't exactly been a ton of good news coming out of this fine company of late—is doing something to stimulate sales. And Formula's Scott Smith told me today that things have actually picked up a bit.
Of course we're still far from out of the woods. But little things, lots of them for sure, lead to big things.

A little bling goes a long way.. boat looks really good.. and fits some of the older gentlemen like Mentlepause that can't handle the go-fast anymore...

Is Formula still producing the Fastech line of boats?
I haven't seen a whole lot of 2010/2011 inventory. Did they halt production to let dealers have a chance to move out that leftover inventory?

The death of floor-plan financing, if you will, for dealers is causing all production builders I'm aware of to build almost everything "to order," and with the consumer financing crunch, which has a huge effect on everything less than $500,000 (buyers for boats beyond that generally come with their own financing) such orders are fewer are farther between.
I know Formula will build a FASTech if they get an order for one. That much I've been told. But your question about halting production to clear inventory is excellent and I will ask it.

I think Formula has hit a home run with the Sun Sport FX. Can't wait to see the 350!
The regular 350 Sun Sport runs over 60 with 496HOs at 13,500lbs so those boats are not slugs by any means.

There is a discussion in the Formula section about an FX that is on BoatTrader.
