The 44 Ol is a great piece. The headroom is good in the galley / head area, but dives down to 5'2 in the forward section. Ran one last weekend in 4-6's, 12 people on boat and didn't take a drop of water on the wind screen. The new grid system makes for an incredibly soft ride as compared to other boats. It is worth putting on your short list. (you too Jeff!!!)

43 Nor Tech is the first thing that comes to mind.

What would be a good offshore boat to deal with the steep waves of Lake Michigan?

Something in the 45' range with a deep V and good sea keeping abilities. Absolute speed would not be the main concern, but rather stability and a dry ride. A decent interior without a low ceiling would be a plus. I am thinking something along the lines of a Cary...

Thanks-

put this on your short list

Best looking Cary I've seen. It's obvious the owner takes good care of it. Doesn't say about drives but I assume they're Arnesons.

Here's a bit from April 2 of this year. It was 83 degrees, but the winds had Lake Michigan kicked up to 4-6 with and occasional 8. We were riding in BZ's 42 Fountain. Turn down the volume if ya don't like a bit of foul language!
