Default Boating accidents over the 4th of July weekend

Hey folks....

I just got the Coast Guard report of accidents and fatalities....
We need to be extra carefull this weekend..
6 deaths and over 42 injured, some very seriously since yesterday in boat accidents...

With more then normal boating traffic and some boaters drinking and boating this weekend, we need to be extra carefull of other boaters around us this weekend...and stay safe...

I hear you. Just got back after 8 hours on Lake Ontario and the idiots were out in full force - most of them on borrowed jet skis. Then there were the three idiots swimming 300 yards from shore in 2 footers. Wanna guess how easy they were to spot at 70 MPH?

You forgot to mention the hazzards at the launch ramp though. I couldn't decide if I wanted a video recorder or a 9 mm more.

considering the tens of thousands (probably much more) on the water this weekend (with tons of newbies, drunks and just plain idiots) thats an incredibly low number.

Yes there are many more boaters on the water then the norm....but with the numbers just from Saturday..that will be around the number of deaths and injuries in a whole month of the heart of the boating seasons....

Yesterday some people were letting there 7 year old son drive there boat here in Va.....the boy ran into a dock..the mon was killed

Sounds crazy but I didn't even take my boat out this wknd, I plain didn't want the hassles. I have been out every weekend since June 1st, decided to lay low and just spend it with family, saw police sit in Neale sound and pull people over checking for alcohol. glad I listened to that little voice in my head this time ..be safe all

Why would you be running 70mph at 300 yards offshore ?? Just trying to connect the dots here!
