Default 525EFI upgrading with Whipple, is it worth the $$

I am toying with this and was interested in any feedback. IS it worth the $12k + labor??

Thanks,

Shad

I don't think so, but I guess it would depend on the application.

You're probably going to go $20K deep per motor once you factor in labor, a drive upgrade/replacement, tuning, dyno, prop(s), etc. etc.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The 525EFI is a brilliant motor as is.

Wait until you need to rebuild the motor. Then do the Raylar upgrade. I believe the 525 kit will be available late summer.

You will love it!
Worth every penny.
The 525 is an excellent platform to put a Whipple on.

We just build a 598 with a 5.0 Whipple on it for a guy with a Magic deck boat... one of the funnest boats I have ever driven... goes 131+ mph.

I would not touch anything that comes from Raylar in my experience. I have had nothing but trouble with 2 motors.

I'm on the 5th season of my Raylar 600 running strong and trouble free. Just changing the oil and adding gas. Your 525 has got a great reciprocating assembly to handle additional power upgrades.

Nothing like a nice, positive first post eh hawks? Why don't you tell us about it. Ray@raylar posts on here all the time. I haven't heard any gripes from his other customers.
