GM or Mercury? I thought GM killed the 8.1 in lew of the new small blocks.
Nice looking rig thirdchildhood...keep an eye on those headers.

Thanks, I did pressure test the headers and they are supposed to be the "new" style. And, yes, the 496 is history. White elephants!:eek:

dude ive been working for GM for the last 25 years we never see problems with 8.1--496 engines.
