What about exhaust?? Are they going to crack down if your not on the coarse? Seems like one patrol boat stops you and the next waves you on. The rules say open exhaust only to idle to and from the coarse. That sucks :lolhit:

Start Speeds

When I was at Mystic last year I asked Cosker how fast they started when they did 209 and he said 60MPH. We started at 30 MPH last year and ran 196MPH with a 3/4" hole in one piston. I'm sure it was smaller at the start.
I am very confident that we can go over 209 easily with a 60MPH start.
Just some food for thought!

I love the way you think. I love your confidence. I love your arrogance. It is good for the thread. If only you left "easily" out of your last response. Show some respect for those who HAVE done it. Lots of people could have done it if it wasn't for this or if it wasn't for that. I could fly if I had wings. I'm a nobody that runs around at 60 mph, but I tip my cap to people that run those speeds

That should be better in keeping the wave action down since most of the spectator traffic comes from downstream not to mention no longer having to drive thru all those no-wake bouys after the traps  But the idle from Captain Rons to the staging area will sure take a while.

I tend to agree with frankenstein above. There is nothing easy about running those speeds.
Dave Callen & John Cosker did an amazing job with all of their runs and my hat is off to them for that.

X2. A big thank you from a long time spectator to everyone that straps on a helmet and makes a run down the course.

Surgery

I just had surgery to remove a kidney stone today and am really hoping for a quick recovery so we can still make it to the Shootout. If we can't make it I wish everyone good luck and safe runs
