Canopy boats were allowed to be on plane. Never heard a speed but Callen got DQ'd on their last run one year for too fast through the start so they must have had a number in mind. I think they were going like 100 when they entered the box, LOL.

a lot faster. u could coast thru the start area fast and off the gas and then let it have it at the line. someone like KK that has done the even for years would have to explain all the changes over the years.

lake hav. was shorted 1/4 in length by mistake. but everyone was at the same length. just hard to compare year to year. kilo's are hard to put on, but when the correct equipment is used; it's very accurate. but, again there has been many years where the correct equipment was not used and they still called it official. and stop watches over a radio is far from it!

this is why the SALTON SEA KILO is such a great event that is growing! they goto great lengths to ensure accuracy!

Dave, is that 40mph for ALL boats?

They should keep it at 30mph for us slow boats so there's more of an acceleration factor. JMO

I hope it's 40 for all that should make for alot higher numbers this year.

Yes - same speed for all boats - that is what I have been told.

The only other differrence that I am aware of is that we will run in the opposite direction.

So will the bridge be the start line or the finish line?

Finish line / radar guns will not move. However, we will be running toward the bridge rather than away.
