Default stereo?? Mp3/ cd changer

In another thread someone had mentioned they didn't think the hard drive would stand up to the pounding of a boat in a mp3. Is this true? Was wondering about mounting in the engine compartment, will the heat bother it more?
And what about the cd, won't it get the bejesus rattled out of it. I only want to spend money once on this.
Can anyone help answer these. This is in one of those 40' tanks (scarab)

Take a look at Sony CD changers...They have built memory that stores several of seconds of music so you won't hear any skips....Also, I believe the new changers can play MP3 files that are burned onto CD's...No hard drive to worry about...Also, they have cool wired remotes

I think that a hard drive is only an issue if you're using a laptop to play mp3 files. Like Greg said, most head units that play mp3's play them from a CD. You basically can get 100+ songs on a cd in mp3 format instead of 10-15. Many of the portable units use compact flash memory (or something like it) that I think is unaffected by bouncing around.

Maximus/
I have 4 babbs-I guess 934's and need to replace them as the cones have broken. Do you know of any deals on Babbs? Which speakers do you have. Are Babbs fairly decent? Also, I am looking to spend around $350 on a stereo/cd. Any recomendations?
