They are still selling bladders. Have they been modified for ethanol use or are they still going to sucumb to the same fate as the older bladders?

I have a 97 ol and I replaced 2 atl saddle tanks in engine compartment about a year and a half ago. I saw this thread and it got me thinking so I just called them. They asked what color they were, mine were a tannish color. They said they have a new material ,which is black, that holds up to these newer fuels. Was told that it is more rigid and could limit ease of replacement for certain applications. Was told that the 10% fuel will seperate when left in tank and cause a higher concentration at the bottom of the tank and ''could cause problems''. It was suggested that I drain the tanks for winter storage, just what I want to do..........

But, why would anyone use them. What is the benefit over aluminum?

Weight? Also, the foam in them prevents sloshing.

Is there a list anywhere of all manufactures that used ATL tanks?

be willing to bet they come with a disclaimer now.

I looked at them the bladders they come with a 1yr warnt, but say they should last 20yrs:grinser010:. mine was 2800 for a 88gal bladder, I bought a 98gal replacement tank local company and he was doing gas tanks for OL and they were being made over kill he said a extra gauge up in size mines .125= 1/8'' under 100gals, old tanks were .090 he said OL tanks were extra extra=1/4'' that tank is 3/16'' for it size but OL wanted spent more for the 1/4'. its not fear to the builders who payed more money twice or three times as much for bladders that leak when a tank was cheaper and last 20 to 30yrs.

The same foam also falls apart in the new blended fuels and clogs the filters.

agree.. why change what has worked for years... The other tanks are less, lighter and possibly easier to work with on a build.
