$160,000 gets what?

This all started as a discussion with a friend of mine. We were discussing what you get for what you pay, and how things are different than a few years ago, etc.

We came to some conclusions and I wanted to post here to see what others would say.

What would $160,000 (a number we scientifically wild ass guessed) buy? I'm talking new boat (custom or production), not retail price, I'm talking what you'd walk out the door with. Or, what's the MOST you could get for that, if you prefer.

If you have enough info, you can provide example of larger boats/smaller power or smaller boats/larger power. Interested in V-hulls mostly.

huh, disappointing....I'd don't look at the board much anymore, but the last few boating related thought out questions I've asked have gone by with little thought. But I can read 50 off topic subjects at any given time with lots of responses....I miss the good old days of OSO.

What's the secondary market value for a charter membership? Should have saved that for boat gas....

Playn,
I used to own one, great boats. I'd own one again in a second, actually wish we never sold it when we did. As long as you'd give me $3500 trade in value on my boat....then maybe we can talk about it :D

Look into Sunsation. You can probably get a 32' Dominator with decent power in the $ range you are talking about.

They also have the Innovator this year but I don't know the $ on that one.

Would get you one of our 28 canopied 4-5 seater running well over 110 mph. Custom paint, loaded with dvd, rear view cameras, and about every option imaginable. A trailer and a few car payments and gas to spare.

You could get a really nice used Top Gun.

HiPerf2000 05-08-2002 11:31 AM

I think the Hustler Cheeta is in that range with twin 500hp.

I think a new 32 Schiada with 500efis is near that price range.

32' Skater, (2) 300x, Trailer, no paint, Or 28' Skater, (2) 300x Trailer, $20,000 Paint job, and change back. Both new.
Philip
Ok, Maybe $10,000 shy of the 32' Skater
