We went there for the first time over Labor Day weekend, great lake and not very crowded for a holiday weekend. Just an FYI, where we stayed on the Blood river was a dry county so stock up before you leave, not sure if the whole lake is dry or not.

Have alwayz stayed at Kentucky Dam State Park cottages & see Walter for a slip if needed .scenic this time of year and you can run all the way too Dolly Parton Ville

Stay at the dam if you want on the north end then you can make a good scenic hour run south to eat at the restaurants on the water that serve alcohol. Makes for a nice afternoon

Go to LOTO. The lake is awesome this time of year.

Nothing on KY or Barkley other than bass boats and house boats. Be carefull as they will start dropping the lake for winter pool...know the channel markers and don't cross the lake at random.
