Back in about 1986, we ran downtown up the river from GATX terminal. One a 18ft Avenger with a blown BBC and the other an 18ft Checkmate with a blown BB Ford. Both had the nozzle stops ground down. Got a few folks on a few of the bridges a little damp.

August 22, 1966, Congress Avenue, Austin Texas, my 65 Mustang, built 289, open Hooker headers, 4 inch collectors, ran through 1st and 2nd gear. No one got wet unless you count the homeless guy that pi$$ed his pants.

Back in the day (1977 to 1995) I owned the marina at Marina City. We had a complete fab, engine shop & dyno. And we would test right there on the river. Open headers, supercharged, what ever. Could someone get away with it today? I don't know. We sure did have more than 1 complaint written to the Mayor's office.
