Get the HE!! off the East side and try to get to the West coast. Michigan is almost 2 different states the Westside and Detroit. I work in manufacturing and there is not enough days in the week to keep up with production. I have a few friends that are from the Bay area and wanted to get back over there, but there has not been any jobs for the last 10 years. (And Lake MI is better) LOL

LOTO for us. I can make it in 2 hours door to door from st. charles county.

Eddie on here has a nice house for sale on carter lake west of Omaha. Not huge but can get on the water from your place and still come to LOTO once a month like griff.

If you want a quiet, scenic view. Not many ramp options, not much for water side entertainment. Its a corp lake so they restrict the shoreline build, control dock buildout, etc.

Water is beautiful & much easier on the equipment than loto tho.

Property taxes are cheaper on the Iowa side of the Mo river, but you get what you pay for in a lot of cases.

Eddie's house is very nice and right on a canal on Carter Lake.
Carter Lake, Iowa is right outside of downtown Omaha and is on the Nebraska side of the Mo river and right by Eppley airport. Its a nice ski lake, but pretty small. Maybe 5 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. It would be great for someone who would traveling a lot or works downtown. Carter Lake is actually an ox bow lake formed by the changing channel of the MO river 100+ years ago and that is why it is on the NE side of the river.
