NJ Parkway, can you trailer a boat?

I want to avoid the GW Bridge in NJ/NY. I was thinking taking coming over the Tappen Zee to the Parkway and then hitting the turnpike further south.

i just hauled a 30 bayliner up from ac. no problems 10 ft wide with no permit

I called the NJ State Police a couple years back about trailering a boat on the GSP and they said no problem.

yes .....you can trailer a boat on The garden state parkway or NJ turnpike. as long as it not oversize load.

What about E-Z pass? Can that be used too with a trailer in tow?

SVL-WARLOCK 11-09-2010 02:47 PM

Just make sure your ballz are coated with steel before the trip. The parkway has more nut jobs on it than just about any other stretch of roadway in America :lolhit:

Towed my CIG and towed my Father's Wellcraft back with no permits- 9'10" and 13'2" high. Clearance is 13'6" under some bridges - I **** myself when we went under the first one.

We used the EZ-Pass Express lane. Worked well, but we ultimately got 3 or 4 fines of $35 each. Not sure why but we paid them and kept our mouth shut. The fine would have been much larger had some adept toll operator noticed the width....

LMAO! I towed my old boat up to Long Island once, talk about white knuckles, The Goethals Bridge was the worst, the BQE was no picnic either.
