Remember, this was the day that a hurricane was off Bermuda and on race day we had to set the course 4 miles offshore to get out beyond the 20' breaking waves. Since we were beyond our safety box, the CG pulled out permit.

Probably a good thing but it would have made for some INCREDIBLE photos and footage!

I thought it was one of the best race productions ever seen. Just spoke to Smitty and he saw the first three shows while in KW. Word is, this one as lame compared to the next show from Sunny Isles Beach FL.
