Skaters with BPM or Arensen
Why don't we see more Skaters built with surface drives? They seem to have Mercury...

Several factors:
- resale value (real or perceived) - package pricing (Mercury Racing power, drive package) - possible lack of knowledge of drive options - local maintainability (probably perceived, Arneson hardly ever breaks) There have been a reasonable number of Arneson Skaters, and we just recently had an Ilmor Indy drive 30 and a X-Power Drive 30. For me personally, my next Skater build, will get serious consideration for Arneson drives. |
(probably perceived, Arneson hardly ever breaks) Ever noticed that the heavy duty boats the coast guard and military use seem to favor Arnesons. Tells me a lot. http://www.tampa-yacht.com/index.html |
Also there has to be a different bottom for the two different setups.
