So Close!-- 99.0 GPS!

Just did a 99.0 pass in my 25' Daytona with Whippled 454MagEFI! Needless to say I'm psyched about this- best speed last year was 87.9- all this extra speed was found in the drive/props! I'll knock down triple digits one of these days!:D

Congrats, tell us more about what you did to get that kind of a speed increase.

ThunderDan

Since last year I replaced my stock 1.36 LWP Bravo with a XZ with an IMCO 2" shorty, same ratio. After initial testing with a new to me but well proven Merc labbed 28" Bravo (Gordo had raced it) I installed a 1/2" spacer for a net 1.5" shorty- this seemed to be the sweet spot. Rev limit brought me to 94.1. Bought a slightly used Merc labbed 30 and today was the first time I really got to run it- about 100RPM below the limiter.

I'll find a way to knock off that last digit. I'm running at 1130' of elevation in freshwater. I'm sure at sea level in salt water I'd be there. The cool thing is this boat is so turn key reliable, gotta love the Whipple / EFI setup.

Go thru compartments & remove the 800 lbs of junk you carry, then just wait for a day when the water has a little more chop, head into the wind. A friend gets upwards of 3-6 mph difference based on amount of chop, wind direction, & etc. Only problem with hitting 100 is you will have a new goal to go after, 101 or ????
