Need scoops for my hatches....
Hello everyone,
I am getting ready to re-upholster the hatches on my Fountain and I want to put scoops on them. I want them to be pre-painted white and purple and fit well with my hatches. Any suggestions on who to contact? Good web-sites? |
I can't tell you where to get them, but I can tell you where NOT to get them - Unlimited Products in Corona, Ca.
Lousey quality, blisters, and they don't follow up on customer complaints. |
I purchased some from Summit Racing. Excellent selection, inexpensive, and no problem for my glass guy to work with. You can also get them from JEGS. I think the websites are www.summitracing.com and www.jegs.com.
|
i would think that the scoops or not a boat only product they look like pro stock scoops from a few years back look in some of the drag race magazine there are several company that make them in alot of different configurations most i have seen or either glassed into the hatches or bolted down from the underneath with the upholstry fitted around the scoops leaving them receased in the cushions

Mid West Motor sports on State Ave. in KCK sells them.
|
Larson Race Cars in KCK also sells anything you want. He also has a great paint guy or two available for paint.
My advice is to buy the carbon fiber scoop and don't paint it!! :D Look at the above mentioned web sites for a styling idea, then call Larry Larson, tell him John from Scott City sent ya! There are also tons of them that are not listed on Jegs or Summit, specialty catalogs only. |
Gee, I guess the phone number might help:
Larry Larson Larson Race Cars 605 S. Broadway Oak Grove, Mo. 816.690.7555 Ask him to show you the 565ci blown street motor that goes in a 65 GTO while you are there. I can't wait. |
SummerObsession,
Thanks for the info. I'll call him this week. Any idea on what he charges? No big deal, just trying to figure it out. |
Charges depend upon what he is charged for paint, etc.
He normally only marks up his parts a small %, as his income is generated primarily from labor in building tube framed race cars. I'm sure it would be WAY more reasonable than a boat dealer or marina in most cases. Glad I could help. |
