550i; keep in mind it's on a 28 Donzi ZX so not the best for dash room.

I shopped for my electronics for a while and went with Lowrance. The 7" screen is the same price as the garmin 5" screen and has all the same options. It is very easy to use and the new models have internal gps antennas. This makes the installation very easy. I use the chart plotter and depth finder as a side by side and the chart plotter is always with in 1' of the depth. This is nice on my lake because parts are very shallow. Good luck!

What model did you get. Will it show speed and depth on one screen where you can see from distance? Also will it show max speed?

The GPS 541 says that it comes loaded with coastal maps. Does that include harbors or is it the whole coast and you still need to buy local maps

if I recall, it does come with harbors BUT the g2 is worth the extra 200 bucks, it will figure out the best routes and better detail of harbors, I am getting one for xmass and the g2 in spring unless there free at west marine. which they were over the summer wish I bought then.

450... HOW BIG IS THE SCEEN? Does it just accept the same chips as the other garmins do? How good is the stuff that it is preloaded with?
