use fogging oil or not??
Does anyone still use fogging oil for storage?? I used to use it but can't seem to find the stuff anywhere??
|
Yup still use it on my motors (carb motors)
|
yes. should be able to find it just about anywhere.
|
can't seem to find it, buddy works at napa..gonna try there
|
Buy it at a jet-ski/PWC shop.
But only use it on your carb motor(s). Do not use on TBI/EFI! |
Mercury has their own label of fogging oil, probably triple the price of any other brand......
Has anyone ever heard of this- one of my neighbors (an older gent) said they used to use ATF instead of fogging oil and never had problems. Seems like ATF would foul plugs and gum up the intake tract (carbs only) Anyone?? Thanks, Rich |

Actually, ATF is very high in detergents and will actually burn off carbon deposits.
Make your own fogging oil. Mix up some Marvel's Mystery Oil and 2 cycle oil and slowly drizzle down the carb with the engine running. Personally though, I have never fogged my engines for winterization. |
