So they're going for 220 mph+ in a prop driven boat to set a "NEW" record. What record?? For a Turbine power prop driven boat?? That would be a feat to accomplish in a boat that size. However "TOP FUEL" drag boats that are prop driven do 250 mph+ in 4 seconds.
Not looking for an argument here, just making a statement. PS Go easy on me guys, I've been on this planet a long time..;) |

YES DRAG BOATS CAN RUN 250 IN 4 SECONDS, BUT THE KILO RECORD IS A SUSTAINED SPEED FOR 1 KILOMETER! WITH BACK TO BACK PASSES! I DONT THINK A DRAG BOAT CAN DO THAT! THE PROP DRIVEN RECORD RIGHT NOW IS 220 AND CHANGE, HELD BY DAVE VILLWOKE IN MISS BUD!

I agree with dykstra. Run it at Fountain on the Pamlico. Plenty of room, gated guarded area, and the fastest water around. Also if you read this Reggie III, Roger A. says Hi.

Thank you Reggie. That's why I asked what record. :drink:
And Warby's record of 317 mph? Forget about it. It will never be broken. For many reasons, No. 1 being economics. |
How fast are unlimited hydroplanes? I thought they ran right at 200 and for longer then 10 seconds.

Warby built that wooden boat in his garage and set the record with a $65 turbine he bought from the Aussie Air Force. Sounds almost surreal today doesn't it? |
