More details on condition etc would help. I would do searches on craigslist, google, traderonline and nada to see what similar boats have sold for.
Is it this one?

It will be a money pit no matter how you look at it. I like that boat though! You need to really look hard at it for rotted transom, stringers, deck etc. Watch especially close anywhere a screw or bolt has been installed. Take a few friends that are unbiased with you and have them point out all the bad things they find to talk you out of it. Go home and call the guy back and make your offer.
If it checks out I'd go 1200.00 if the trailer is ok.

Pretty rare outboard version of the highly acclaimed 2150 sterndrive.I think Bob Hammond only built 6 outboard versions,we bought 2 of those. He built a bunch of the sterndrives,a friend has a really nice '81.The hull is from the George Linder Challenger, possibly the best running, best handling 21 vee ever built, and to this day copied by many.Bob didn't pop one,he paid George for a mold of the running surface in 1978 and built his own sides and deck.Value of a boat this age is tough to determine, but it definately has an excellent pedigree. Good luck.
