I wouldn't go that far. I think there were plenty of race cats and some pleasure boats overe the 150 mark in 2000. I remember a 36 Skater in Powerboat with 900sc's sometime around then that was close to 160. Not to mention the turbine boats that were running around back then. Hell I think Hot Pursuit ran his Shadow Cat over 150 well over 10 years ago.

You can see why people didn't like the diesel boats coming to race in their towns!

MY WAY turbine did 170 back then 46 skater. and if the blow boats stay out of the way this season Gerry should hit higher than that now with the improvements. we been cruising at 120 to 140 before in mass and R I waters .

Lets not forget Jetset...the original 180mph He was running his ass off long before anyone was running those speeds in a pleasure boat...
