There were a few other "Mikes in the offshore racing circles, and a couple of other "Mikes" in the fire department I worked for. At some point I became "Gordo". The name stuck.
To this day, if someone said "Mike" I may not know if you're referring to me or not. But I can be a thousand miles from home, riding on the deck of a raceboat in a parade and hear someone yell Hey Gordo! there's no doubt, somebody knows me.

Perlmudder came from about grade 8 when I decided I was going to be a rapper. Seemed like a good career choice. My last name is Perlstein and alot of my friends call me Jperl so I took part of that, and thought about how rappers well, rap, and I came up with mutter. But that didn't sound right so i changed it to mudder. Then whamo! Perlmudder was born. The name sort of went under for a couple years until I told one of my sisters boyfriends about it, and he started calling me it. From then on, it just sort of stuck.

HIGH LIFE, I was rigging my '79 BANANA when a friend showed up with a 6-pack of Miller High Life, liked the style of lettering, and it being two 4 letter words. I enjoy living the "HIGH LIFE" when cruising on the MAGNUM. My name is not Miller, and I don't drink beer, but if you have Absolute vodka, make mine with tonic. "HIGH LIFE"
