Boaters in Lee County Co. need to vote for this guy
This an e-mail I received from a CFW:
This e-mail is from Clyde Bowles. He is running for Commissioner in Lee County and deserves all boaters backing and vote if you live in his area. He asked me to forward this: . It is my goal to develop a series of pro-active plans for boaters. 1. Possible July 4th Boater Voter protest, State wide. 2. Incorporate a new non-profit group called: Save the Boaters, Inc *Note: Apply for a state tag (Like Save the Manatee) called SAVE THE BOATERS. Considering how many boaters there are, could raise over $2,000,000.00. Use those funds to bring law suits against Save the Manatee and State/Feds. Create Budget to hire Constitution Law firms to start a state Referendum. State Boating organizations and marine interests will serve on this board. This organization will not accept boaters memberships. Organizations State Wide will help fund this. 3. State Wide Referendum.....goal: Upon adoption by state voters, it becomes constitutional law. The Legislators and Governor can not change this law. The law will require the state, for all years to come, to seek a referendum vote by the voters in each affected county for any use changes related to waters of Florida. That the State will be required to adopt uniform rules state wide instead of imposing one rule for one county and a different rule for another county. That the Department of State shall recognize that the State serves the people, not the people serve the state. We can, as part of this referendum, require that all state rules be rolled back to what they were in a certain year of the past. I believe that we can win adoption of a referendum like this by 2004. It is a process that cannot be stopped once started. This new organization will have the power and money to decide many elections in years to come. The Governor and state elected Reps and Senators will be more afraid of us than Manatee Clubs. This will require a lot of work and help from many of you to get this off the ground. The New State Tag will generate about $10.00 per tag sale. 900,000 registered boat owners times two people per house hold, times all their cars, trailers and friends, times $10.00, equals lots of money. Some of these people currently own a Save the Manatee tag, but considering how upset people are today, I think the manatee clubs will loose those funds to our cause. If we can get organized and convince people and organizations state wide to unite, we will have more money and influence than all the environment groups together. Sincerely, Clyde I LIKE IT, if I lived in Lee Co., I would get on this guy's political steering committee and DO EVRYTHING I COULD TO GET THIS GUY IN OFFICE!!! md |
I like the sound of that!
Hopefully, his attitude and ideas will spread and people will begin to realize just how important boating is to FL. Besides Disney(Orlando) and a few other hot vacation hot spots like Miami--Boating is a huge portion of our states tourist income. Many, if not all coastal cities and communities rely on boating revenue. |
He can sure talk the talk.
Hope he can walk the walk. It'd be great to get somone like him in office. A politician people can rally around. I wish him luck. |
How can I get in touch w/ Clyde?
