we have been in punta gorda for 8 years love the boating here it can be dead flat or get 4 to 6 fts depends on the winds but in genearal nice water and can go south and north on the intercoastal when the golf gets rough its ideal

28 pantera would fit the bill nicely, and be well in your price range for a used one, 2 of them in the classifieds under $50K

Sounds like a 28isg with a 24* deadrise would fit the bill. Always like Panters as my brother had a 24'er with a 454 in it. |

Currently boatless and looking for recommendations as to what boats I ought consider.
I had a Rinker 23' 454 Magnum and it porpoised and was not good at white water at all. Then bought a Wellcraft 26' Nova ST T-350 Magnums...21* deadrise. Very good at white water but not a Cigarette. ;) Length Deadrise Types of waters and challenges Just an overview of what to expect/plan for and invest in for boating conditions in the Punta Gorda area. Might head for the Gulf now and then. I would not be asking if I could buy anything. I know it will probably be a used boat. So something in the $ 75,000 range. I was "toying" with the idea of a Kawasaki Jet Boat 20* deadrise Twin 25 and' 8'6" beam....looks fun but would I have to be limited to "channels"? Bad idea? Thanks for your help! http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...b217_0-en.html Since you've owned a 23 and 24, a 28 wouldn't be too big a jump. Plus you can run it anywhere, lake or ocean. |
How bout a cat, still within your price range;
