Those chunks of ice originally shut down our plan but then we noticed a duck swimming through them...they turned out to be largely slush and before we rode, I made a couple passes with the boat to push some away from our path.
Thats what I figured...I noticed in the first clip of getting to the docks that there was a lot more ice chunks floating around. Then when you actually started there seemed to be a nice path made. I thought for sure he was going to board right up on to the existing ice at the end to stay out of the water but his final destination was pretty cool as well.

I've boarded on the Illinois River in mid-November and on Clinton Lake (a local nuke plant cooling lake) in late February but this takes the cake! Welcome!

Welcome to OSO! That reminds me of when I was much younger, lighter, stronger and faster and me and an attorney friend would swim a half mile in Lake Travis on Feb 1 every year. No ice but still PLENTY cold to swim that far in 45-50 degree water!
