what is the headroom in a fountain 35', 42', and 47'?

..something about island hopping in the caribbean for 1-3+ months and also having some power and speed behind you and also beingable to just anchor wherever you see fit would be cool, or docking and mooring on the bigger islands.....

not sure how moorings would work out tho... inflatablable dinghy? ;)

Go for a Riviera M470, runs about 35-40 and has more than enough amenities for a few weeks aboard.

You would be better off with diesels for island hopping.

I think B.T.B's Nortech runs 70 or so. Someone will be able to correct me, though.

Yes I think so as well, and much more reliable from what I am reading..

or even making your own diesel for home use here in Chicago for less then $1 a gallon...

but I assume there is no way they would let you bring your own gas to your baot while it is docked in the marina?

you would have to trailer the boat to fill up? (home-made diesel)
