at the same time an 09 350 verado is around 25k per motor multiply that by thre and you get 75k for his currents setup versus 140k for 2 motors (i realize verado price maybe wrong but unless its 46.5k per motor its still cheaper)

Some of these points are based on accepting their 557 horsepower rating. Where was this figure obtained? Propshaft or at the crank? I highly doubt that after making two 90 degree turns on the way to the water that there is 557 horsepower left.

The market for these things may be more the heavy hauler/tug/fishing rigs that run outboards. They could probably more benefit from the torque and projected durability of this setup. I really don't see this as a high performance product in its current state.

If they can get more Hp per weight out of it with power adders or tuning, or lighten the motors down to 600-700lbs. then it makes sense, but right now its a "trade-off" that doesn't provide any benefit and costs nearly double @ its projected price.

I don't know what the market would be for a 50-60' Sea Ray Sundancer with 2-3 of these mounted on the back of it, but you could probably have one helluva party in the aft cabin...

These are the LS small block GM engine straight out of the Supercharged Cadillac,
Take off the cowling and any mechanic with 2 brain cells can work on the engine as opposed to outboards which are brain surgery to most..
They also make tons of torque on top of great HP..

While a lot of people may think price is high
keep in mind the new Merc 1350s are close to 200k a side
and every other performance boat at the Miami show had a pair.
What seems high to some is pocket change for others.

The supercharged 6.2L LSA debuted in the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V. The LSA has been SAE certified at 556 bhp (415 kW)@6100rpm and 551 lb·ft (747 N·m)@3800rpm.

Not to mention the extra drag of that third gearcase kills a lot of the extra HP of the thirs engine, thats why 3 engine CCs are only moderately faster than twin engines and waste more fuel.
Quad engined CCs are a even closer to 3 engined ones again because of all that extra drag thru the water plus the extra turbulence of having four props that close to each other on a normal beam CC.
I would dare say twin 500hp outboards would run same as quad 300s and use much less fuel making the price about same for either setup ..

i'm with u brian can u say broke transon i can see it it now laying in the middle of i 40 ; and cat if i'm going to hang 3 0r 4 outboards off mine it will 2 strokes .

At the show, the "7" guy told me the stock versions were $68K each. The ones at the show were $75K each. I'm not sure what $7K feature they had...

if you look at merc's price's you could by most of the motor's for a little bit over half of MSRP
