Alec, your idea is a good one, but my offer stands also, as long as Jay promises not to go swimming with my gear... :lolhit:

Thanks, Bruce- I wondered how you did that. :cool-smiley-011:

No promises, pal. I need some water-level action shots!

For every 100 he gets he has to pull the lever for the Republican ticket!!! :drink::drink: He may rather just keep the stuff on the bottom. :D

Sorry to hear about this Jay. I'm glad you are alright and hope you get back on your feet soon.

Jay,

My Condolences on your unfortunate situation.

Based on what I know, what I have heard first hand from Tog's who have lost their gear in the drink, and what CPS has told me, your gear is a total loss. You MAY be able to recover the CF cards, if you can find them. CF cards go for spins in clothes washers all the time, and images are usually recoverable, but that is fresh water, not salt water.

Regarding your Lenses & Bodies, they are going to be a Total Loss. Corrosion & Mold will be the worst enemies, and neither Canon nor Nikon will touch gear that has water damage, especially salt water damage :(. I hope you had insurance to cover all your gear, and you get back on your feet quickly. If I shot Nikon, I would send you a spare body/ lenses, since I seem to have spares of both, but alas I'm a Canon guy. :)

Shawn's generosity is awesome, along with everyone else that has offered to help Jay get back on his feet.

Ok is that floating blue tub some sort of new high tech Pelican Box?:lolhit:

To be honest, my first thought when I seen the picture was that you were providing more horsepower than that little eggbeater beside you.

Maybe a caption contest is in order here:

My entry: "Jay always wanted a boat with twins". :drink:
